Adrian Hannah - Support Analyst, Corporate Services
"the team is focused on delivering not just technical expertise but excellent customer service"
I have worked for Audit Scotland for the past three years since leaving college. The organisation is still relatively young but progressive in its outlook and values.
This is also the case within the IT department. With around 280 staff based in offices and client sites across Scotland, we work with a range of technologies to enable our users to stay connected. At times it has been a steep learning curve and you have to be flexible in your approach to the work but it’s nice to work with people who really want to make a difference.
The IT department are responsible for all aspects of technology within the organisation. From supporting laptops and printers to training and advice; the team is focused on delivering not just technical expertise but excellent customer service. The work can be challenging as the department plays an important role in the corporate projects that shape Audit Scotland as a organisation. After being involved in several key projects, I’ve begun to feel a real sense of value, recognising that what I do actually makes a difference.
This value is also mirrored in the company’s policy on actively encouraging its staff in their own personal development. The company is keen to support their staff with training and those who wish to invest in new skills. Currently the IT team are working towards their Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification, a recognised industry standard and I am working towards my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) accreditation.”
