Complaints about Audit Scotland

Audit Scotland strives to ensure the highest standard of corporate governance, deliver an efficient and effective public audit service and achieve best value in everything we do.

However if you have any concerns or are dissatisfied with any part of our work and wish to make a complaint please refer to the documents below. The complaints about Audit Scotland leaflet will give you details and guidance on our complaints process, and the complaints form will help structure your complaint and give us details to investigate it quickly.

Raising concerns about the organisations we audit

We will consider concerns about other public bodies as part of our on-going risk based approach to the audit process. Provided the issues raised fall within our remit we will refer any correspondence we receive to the auditor of the public body concerned. On the basis of the auditor’s response we will decide whether the matter will be investigated further to form the basis of a report, whether it should be included in our normal audit activity or whether no further action is required. We will acknowledge all correspondence within ten working days and provide a final response within 30 working days.
